Today's Lesson: Samuel Adams & The Pups of Liberty

I thought I would do things a little differently today, just to mix things up a bit for the minions. So, while we still have a quote and a coloring page, the other lessons took a different turn.

"Mankind are governed more by their feelings than by reason." -Samuel Adams
The coloring sheet I used can be found here and includes a short paragraph on Sam Adams.

For the rest of the lesson we will be using a DVD that I got for FREE from izzit.org.  If you are not a member of this site you can become one for free and receive a free DVD every year.  Or you can pay 9.99 for a whole year membership and get a free DVD every 30 days.  It's really cool and they have lots of different topics that you can choose from.  They also have lessons that correspond to the videos, so all you have to do is print them out!  This is a really great site and it is well worth your time to check it out.

Today we will be using the "The Pups of Liberty: The Boston Tea-Bone Party" DVD, teacher resources and some of the student activities.

This funny video resource explains the Boston Tea Party for older kids  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PC_w4M2W3pI

We will also be watching Liberty's Kids, episode 1, "The Boston Tea Party."

Have fun learning!
