Today's Lesson: Harry Houdini

"Fire has always been and, seemingly, will always remain, the most terrible of the elements." -Harry Houdini
Today I picked Harry Houdini by suggestion of one of my friends.(Thanks Terry!)  I thought it could be fun and interesting to learn more about this great magician. I liked this quote and the kids had a fun time discussing it, but here are some more interesting  Great Houdini quotes.  The kids loved coloring the Houdini coloring sheet .
A great biography for older kids and a short video Harry's Biography.
And another one Houdini biography with writing prompts.
Here's a young Houdini reading comprehension worksheet.
And I can't forger the really cool videos of the man himself,Houdini Strait Jacket Escape
and Houdini Rope Escape.
Here is a video explaining how Houdini really died, How Houdini Died (screen this prior to make sure it is appropriate for you child's age group.)
And don't forget to try your hand at some cool "magic" aka science tricks, invisible ink and burning money (really cool).

Have fun learning!
