Today's Lesson: John Lennon

Every morning me and the minions start the school day with a quote.  Sometimes the quote leads to a lesson, today was one of those days.  I thought I'd share what happens.

Quote: "Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans." -John Lennon

I printed out a John Lennon coloring sheet and had the kids write the quote on the bottom.
Then I read a short biography and we watched a short video, and discussed key points, the "bed in" and the Vietnam war, and his untimely death.
Then we listened to some John Lennon tunes:  "Imagine" and "Give Peace a Chance."

Then I had the boy do this activity based on the "Imagine" song. That I found at busyteacher.com (you must register for a free account to download the worksheet.)

Sometimes a simple quote can stretch into an entire day of learning!
