Today's Lesson: Abigail Adams

"Learning is not attained by chance, it must be sought for with ardor and diligence." -Abigail Adams

This quote really says a lot about this former first Lady, she never had a formal education, but like most great minds, was an avid reader.  Unfortunately, there isn't very much in the way of free worksheets when it comes to Abigail Adams, but I did find a  coloring sheet.  Abigail Adams was famous for writing letters, lots of them, to her husband John Adams. I found this writing exercise, for older kids.   Here is another writing exercise suitable for younger kids.
Kids can show their creative side by designing a postage stamp in Abigail Adams' honor.  Abigail Adams isn't known for much besides being married to a president, but there was more to her than that, read her biography to find out more.  This one includes a short video.  Have kids interpret a quote, on this writing prompt.  Watch Liberty's Kids "United We Stand, (episode 3)" featuring First Lady Adams.

Have Fun Learning!
