“Play Anywhere” Games – Cedar Life Academy Blog

“Play Anywhere” Games – Cedar Life Academy Blog

Sometimes when we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we forget about the simple things that make our kids happy.  I'm sure you all hear "I'm bored!" or "will you play with me?"  Here are some excellent ideas from Cedar Life Academy blog,  that will cost you absolutely nothing but a few moments of your time and reward you with memories.

Here are a few more ideas:

Are you at the doctor's office sitting around with nothing to do? We play I spy.

Outside in the yard? Have a scavenger hunt off the top of your head, make it as easy or as difficult as you like, for instance, for a young child you can tell them to bring you a rock, a leaf or a stick.  For older kids you can be more specific, a purple flower, a smooth grey rock, or a "Y" shaped stick.

Another great one to play along with the kids, (no matter what kind of bad mood they are in) all I have to say is "The floor is lava!" The kids will automatically drop what ever they are doing and jump on the nearest piece of furniture.  This game is best for those of us who have nice "lived-in" houses. ;)

At the market? Play guess how much. During checkout the kids guess how much the total for the groceries is going to be.  Who ever gets nearest to the actual total wins a quarter (or dollar , or dime or stick of gum or what ever is in your purse.)
